Wanting a Pulp Fiction-themed pinball machine that looked and felt like it came straight out of the 1980s, Tarantino personally requested and stayed involved in this project, shaping the final product into a lovingly crafted tribute to his legendary film. Because Tarantino rarely licenses his intellectual property, this machine is a uniquely privileged homage to a cinematic masterpiece.

Legendary pinball designer Mark Ritchie has created a playfield that, at first glance, mirrors the simplicity of classic early solid-state games, but on closer inspection reveals more mechanisms and deeper gameplay than many modern titles. The game blends straightforward, learnable shots with layered rules and modes that keep both newcomers and highly skilled players engaged.

Sound and atmosphere are handled by David Thiel, who pulls players deep into the Pulp Fiction universe using over 250 iconic voice lines from the original cast, five licensed songs from the movie’s soundtrack, and several original compositions that fit the film’s vibe perfectly. Rules by Josh Sharpe are approachable yet deep, striking that ideal balance between intuitive play and strategic depth.
